Ed Tryon, President

Ed Tryon is the President of Tryangle Consulting Inc. He personally guides the daily functions of the company. His career spans almost forty years working in all facets of the construction industry.
Throughout his career, Ed has worked as an operations manager, MEP Conceptual Estimator, regional director of design, vice president of preconstruction and owner’s consultant for generational transition and strategic business growth. Ed has worked in a variety of environments including corporate, government, healthcare, pharmaceutical, higher education, and mission critical clients.
Clients that Ed has worked with include Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth, Merck, University of Pennsylvania, Aetna/US Healthcare, Rohm and Haas, and Prudential Insurance. In addition to working with those companies, Ed was instrumental in building the first IKEA store in the US as well as the first LEED project in Pennsylvania at Swarthmore College.
Ed holds a B.S. in Construction Management from the Drexel University and is a former President of the Drexel Chapter of Construction Management Association of America (CMAA). Ed has taught classes for Bucks County Community College (PA), Drexel University and General Building Contractors Association (GBCA) – Philadelphia.
Ed serves on the Board of Directors for the Cradle of Liberty Council Boy Scouts of America as the regional district chair in Philadelphia for the Upper Montgomery County area.
Ed is married to his wife Alicia and together they have three sons, Jay, Tom, and Ben with their one granddaughter, Naveyah.

Jay Berwanger, Preconstruction Specialist

Jay Berwanger manages and oversees the preconstruction team and processes. He works closely with the owners team to ensure that all necessary resources are supplied for the preconstruction effort, beginning with the programming documents and schematic design phase. Jay is responsible for the cost estimating, GMP review, and value engineering efforts. He works closely with the construction team to develop the bid packages and determine best value and the most cost effective solutions. Jay is primarily responsible for directing our architectural, structural, civil, mechanical and electrical estimators and consultants. Jay will work closely with key members of the project team during preconstruction for constructability, site utilization and scheduling reviews. Jay is also responsible for the completion of risk reviews for our clients.

Similar to Ed, Jay’s career spans over forty-five years working in all facets of the construction industry. Jay has worked as a project engineer, project manager, chief estimator, and vice president of Preconstruction Services. He has worked across markets for corporate, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and higher education clients. During his career Jay has worked with clients including Pzifer, Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth, and Merck.
Jay has a BS in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. In the past he has served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Philadelphia.
Jay is married to his wife Kelly, and together they have one son, Jesse, and one daughter, Kara.
