Design/Build Construction (DB) is a unique contracting method where a contractor or subcontractor is selected based on his ability to perform a project and he performs the design of the project to the client’s design parameters. This is different than the usual “design/Bid/Build” process. DB has been know to save an average of 19% in costs and save months to a construction project by expediting elements of work ahead of completed design.
Ed Tryon, the president of Tryangle Consultants is a certified member of the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA). DBIA sets the standards for “Design Build Done Right”. As a former Regional Manager for an international Construction Management firm, Ed was directly responsible for organizing and directing hundreds of millions of dollars of design build work.
